Equipment Ranges
Details of the equipment provided to legacy vessels
During both the 20th and 21st centuries, Varivane has been at the forefront of fulfilling accommodation and habitability requirements for the Royal Navy.
Varivane supports the entire current British Royal Navy fleet via a direct MoD contract covering all accommodation furniture, medical facilities, soft furnishings and ancillary equipment, which adhere to the specified standards of the NATO Stock Number system.
For the last 60 years, we have retained high standards of service and also provided through-life support for our products situated on many classes of ships. We have been involved in multiple refit projects involving Naval Vessels.
Varivane supported the UK Ministry of Defence in creating the Def Stan 02-128, a defence standard that specifies the requirements for a modular furniture range to be used on all UK naval vessels. This furniture range was implemented on both existing ships and new constructions at the time, including the Invincible Class Carriers, Type 42 Destroyers, Type 23 Frigates, HMS Bulwark, HMS Albion, and HMS Ocean. Some of the codified equipment can be found on the Daring Class Type 45 Destroyers.
Varivane Industries designed this wide range of equipment, which now serves as the foundation for all future modular furniture needs as the Royal Navy moves into a new era of modern shipbuilding.
