Details of the equipment provided for the Type 31 project
Type 31 frigates have been created with the purpose of preventing aggression and safeguarding the security of the UK's interests, ensuring a strong naval presence worldwide.
The Inspiration Class, also referred to as Type 31 frigates, is set to include five ships: HMS Venturer, HMS Active, HMS Bulldog, HMS Formidable, and HMS Campbeltown. These remarkable vessels are presently being built and are scheduled to join the Royal Navy fleet by 2030, taking over from certain Duke Class frigates.
Varivane Industries has created a comprehensive habitability suite, including modular cabin furniture, security cabinets, mess area furniture, life jacket lockers, and medical equipment. In addition to this, Varivane is offering a complete range of ammunition storage solutions and design and consultancy services to support the Royal Navy's modernisation efforts. This collaboration also marks a significant strategic partnership with Babcock International.

Crafted from aluminium, this bunk system is designed to optimise comfort and functionality in challenging environments by providing ample space for the occupant. Varivane offers design solutions while prioritising our responsibility to Royal Navy personnel, guaranteeing their safety and well-being.
These secure storage solutions are both lightweight and versatile, featuring the Assa Abloy digital pin lock for enhanced security. The lockers and cupboards have been designed to be modular and interchangeable, providing a flexible solution that can adapt to the ever-changing environment of life at sea.
Varivane provides four options of modular mess seating upholstered with Crib 7 material. The settee units are fully adaptable and can be interconnected to create spatially optimised recreational areas on the Type 31. Ensuring the well-being of the crew is paramount, and this is a key factor taken into account in the design process.
Varivane specialises in creating and producing ammunition storage solutions and weapon lockers. Our expertise includes supplying storage solutions for the Type 31 countermeasures, as well as heavy duty machine gun lockers and response force lockers (ships weapon stowage).

Through the development of 3D models, cabin layout drawings, and captivity information, Varivane has produced a range of technical data that guarantees long-term supportability for the Type 31 Frigates.
