Details of the equipment provided for the Type 26 project
The Type 26, also referred to as the City-class frigate, is a series of ships currently under construction for the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom. The initiative, named the Global Combat Ship program, was brought to fruition by the British Ministry of Defence with the aim of replacing some of the navy's thirteen Type 23 frigates, as well as for potential export. Its main function is to carry out sophisticated anti-submarine warfare tasks, along with providing air defence and general operational support.
Varivane produced a wide array of ammunition storage solutions for BAE Systems, including decoy stowage racks for countermeasures, response force lockers for SA80 rifles, and helo C and G lockers. These lockers are crucial to the defensive and offensive capabilities of the Type 26 platform.
To enhance safety and efficiency onboard, Varivane furnished the medical complex for the Type 26 frigates. This advanced facility included specialised medical equipment such as operating tables, medical fridges, high-spec medical lighting, and medical storage solutions.
In line with the protection and integrity of information assets on naval vessels, Varivane provided secure storage solutions equipped with high-security locking arrangements to safeguard critical information in demanding environments.

This high-security range offers a wide variety of locking options. Featuring KABA digital combination locks, MKVIII manifoil locks, and ILS locks, these Security Containers have been provided to the Royal Navy for more than 45 years, demonstrating a reliable history of protecting sensitive information. The containers, made from high-thickness aluminium and equipped with anti-tamper mechanisms, are produced to rigorous defence specifications and are present on all UK Naval ships as well as those of allied navies

The decoy stowage racks securely house Chemring's world leading countermeasures. Their offerings encompass a comprehensive range of technologies, including those that operate across the full electromagnetic spectrum, as well as radar reflective, infrared naval decoys, and chaff payloads. We have been supplying decoy stowage racks to both UK and international customers for over 4 decades as we continue to play our part in international maritime security
