Varivane specialises in the design and production of storage solutions for naval countermeasures that support Anti-Ship Missile Defence (ASMD). Our offerings encompass a comprehensive range of technologies, including those that operate across the full electromagnetic spectrum, as well as radar reflective, infrared naval decoys, and chaff payloads. We have been supplying decoy stowage racks to both UK and international customers for over four decades, as we continue to play our part in international maritime security. Storage Solutions for multiple ammunition variants

Varivane is the OEM for the design and production of ammunition storage lockers suitable for both weatherdecks and internal compartments of naval ships. Included in the vast range are 30mm B Marc lockers, HMG lockers, and pyrotechnic lockers, which are essential for ensuring the safe operation of naval vessels worldwide. As military operations evolve in response to shifting requirements and technological advancements, Varivane offers our clientele comprehensive technical solutions and design services, and deliver state-of-the-art products and materials that can perform effectively in the most challenging environments.

R & D and Product Development

Varivane offers ammunition storage lockers that are ballistically protected to RATTAM A2 standards, featuring cladding specifically designed to deflect and minimise direct sunlight while assisting in temperature regulation. Lockers can be designed to defeat the A2 threat with an applicable armour solution. Materials are subjected to rigorous environmental, ballistic and safety tests to ensure that they meet the required EU, US, UK and NATO standards. To achieve the lightest possible ballistic-resistant armour, Permali employs advanced ceramic plates made from low-density silicon carbide or even lower-density boron carbide. These lower-density ceramic plates offer greater mass efficiency, enabling the production of lighter and more effective anti-ballistic armour, which is ideally suited for ammunition lockers.

The advancement of alternative materials has positioned Varivane as a leader in the defence sector, enabling the company to respond effectively to the dynamic landscape of the global defence industry. This includes the incorporation of 3D components, glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), composite materials, and ballistic protection solutions. Varivane is equipped to deliver technically advanced solutions for ammunition storage needs. The Response Force Locker is available in various configurations, designed to accommodate the SA80 with SUSAT sight, Glock 17 or 19, as well as numerous other small arms variants. These lockers are fully customisable, allowing for modifications to the internal layout to accommodate future small arms as the Navy and Military adapt over time.
